Personally, I’ve found that through baking it can truly bring people together (whether that’s for a special occasion, like a wedding) or even to help release those endorphins (I mean, who doesn’t like feeling good inside and out)! I don’t claim to be the best, of the best, of the best… BUT my ambition to keep pushing myself has shown just how far I’ve come and the company in tow, in regards to techniques and even creativity wise.
The love you all show me and my business is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and can’t thank you all enough!
So, What Is Bareass Bakery?

We sell a variety of baked goodies that will make your mouth water. Anything from Rocky Road to Cupcakes with all the deliciousness in between. The beauty of small businesses is that everything we make is made with passion and love.
Storytime: Written by The Boss
Being creative is in our blood, sweat and tears. Baking was never an immediate goal we had, as a child the owner of Bareass Bakery thought she’d be an Agony Aunt in a glossy magazine, (we think it’s because she loves to waffle on when talking). Overtime, she got exposed to the wonders and the delicious calories that is the beauty of baking! Her most memorable baking story was when her hard working mum came home from work, to find her daughter spending half the day trashing the kitchen and baking a surprise cake (not because it was any of their birthdays, but because of Hattie’s love of cakes). Her mum took one bite, spat it straight out and off in the bin it went. See, what had happened was Hattie was a child at the time and followed the recipe to a T… except for the sunflower oil it had called for. Instead she replaced it with olive oil (you know, the type that you fry with). A beautiful zebra cake it was and a beautifully decorated cake it stayed… in the bin. From then on the owner learned this crucial mishap… to keep pushing and not letting little bumps along the way stop her from being successful and making her way in the world.

Cake Policies:
If collecting you will be given a 30min time slot, if you’re late you will incur a small late charge & we won't be able to release the cake once paid, so PLEASE don't be late. Especially when it has a knock on affect to our other customers who may be collecting that day. If you know you’ll be late let us know before your time slot begins and we'll shift your time slot, free of charge, unless you’re late for that as well and will incur a £5 fee before we release your cake/custom order.
Once collected, the responsibility will be out of our hands.
We advise, if its only you in the car, to place a non slip matt on the floor of your car and have the seat behind it pulled forward so it cushions it as much as possible without crushing it.
Please drive carefully as sharp turns and breaking may have the cake flying and always hold the cake as evenly as possible.
Heat is not a Cake's best friend so please try and keep it cool as possible.
When collecting, your cake (which is in a cardboard box) it may be housed in our plastic container with a sign. We sanitize it between each person if this is the case, all we ask is that you put the lid back on so it doesn’t fly away like Aladdin’s magic carpet.
Fondant cakes need to be stored at room temperatures, or if kept in the fridge (if you really have to) please allow on average 4hrs for the cake to return to room temperature once taken out of the fridge, in this time do not touch the cake!
Buttercream and Ganache cakes to be stored in the fridge or if its for a short time then room temperature is fine. They can also be frozen for up to 1 month.
Dispatch Days
Weekly Restocks: every weekend.
Dispatch Days: Mondays - Wednesdays.
Orders placed Sunday - Wednesday will be dispatched Monday - Wednesday (1 week). Orders placed Thursday - Saturday will be dispatched the second Monday - Wednesday (2 weeks). Anything for collection/local delivery for custom orders and cakes, will have a different turn around time depending on the order.
This announcement doesn’t affect The Mini Gifts dispatch times or Celebration Cakes and Cupcakes. You’ll be contacted day before when your order will be ready to collect, via email or text/WhatsApp, so please do keep an eye out for us (always check spam folders).
Iced cookies are a very time consuming process to bake, make and decorate. For that reason we will be upping our usual dispatch time frame. If you buy any of our iced cookies and/mixed with our other bakes in the same order we will be dispatching them at the same time but the new time frame will apply.
Once your parcel is with the courier it is literally out of our hands, usually we have no dramas with deliveries but in the rare case that they do mess up. If you’ve selected shipping with tracking, then please keep checking it as we don’t have any teleportation powers (though that would be an amazing power!) but will do everything on our end of the screen to help pursue the couriers.
Delivery Intel
If you’re willing to travel to West Sussex then all our treat boxes are available for Free Collections with a timed slot!! Just like our cakes, if you’re late for your time slot you will incur a small charge and we won’t release it until its paid, so please don’t be late. If you think you will be please contact us either via email or DM on Insta BEFORE your time slot begins (minimum 15mins before).
All boxes are sent Instagram worthy, but sometimes the postman can get a little to excited (must be the smell of chocolate and sugar!), but not to worry as it'll set your taste buds alight with every mouthful, regardless.
All bakes are best stored refrigerated and brought to room temperature before consuming. From the day of dispatch, bakes last 3-7 days after arrival (depending on the courier service chosen at checkout), regardless, we suggest you pop your bakes in the fridge for an hour at least before consuming, and letting them gently warm back up to room temperature (except if it’s cake). You can freeze our bakes for up to 3 months.
ALL BAKES ARE MADE IN AN ENVIROMENT THAT HANDLES GLUTEN, NUTS, PEANUTS, DAIRY, EGGS, HAZELNUTS AND SOYA
A note to bare in mind, custard with a warmed brownie is heavenly (in our opinion), but also when it comes to our Slutty brownie cakes a dollop of ice cream in the middle makes them even more tasty! We like to dub them as chocolate bowls, made for ice cream (hehe).
Refunds
We do not accept refunds. If the tracking number provided says its been delivered and/or signed for, we will take this as it’s been delivered to you. If for any reason you need to change the address you have 24hrs exactly from your order confirmation email for us to change it for you. After that time, we cannot guarantee we’ll be able to alter the address, so please do double check before ordering as we love baking for people to enjoy.

We've seen a lot of posts online, where people have expressed concern over the rate of new food businesses that have popped up during the various lockdowns and are trading without the correct credentials.
Rest assured that here at Bareass Bakery is not only insured, registered, but also has the maximum rating in food handling over the years.
It’s incredibly important to make sure you’re buying from a business that understands allergens; food hygiene procedures; regulations; how to store food and all the not so glam parts of running a successful business.
